Eleelheueblang suburb, Banda Aceh. Bodies, bodies everywhere:

The stench of rotting corpses permeates the humid air of Banda Aceh and one need only to follow the pungent odor for several yards before encountering the remains of a victim. Corpses are everywhere, and collection teams roam the fields of debris collecting them. The bodies are placed in plastic bags and carried to the road where flat bed trucks collect them and deposit them at a large mass grave near the city's airport. The odor would gag most people but after some time, collection teams get accustomed to the smell and don't even bother wearing masks. At the time of this photograph, more than 1,700 bodies per day were being removed from the debris of Banda Aceh.
