I’ve just spent the better part of the last three days researching, riding and exploring all that Battambang’s Bamboo train has to offer….it’s going to be a great part of our 2011 workshop! see www.jimclinephotoworkshops.com
Market Scenes, Siem Reap Cambodia
I’ve been checking out local markets to see which will be the best for our 2011 Angkor Photo Workshops. Lighting is a challenge a usual, with dim conditions and difficult white balance control (unless of course you shoot RAW and convert later), but the subject matter is plentiful and the photo opportunities are amazing.

The Asia Foundation Assignment: Kampot & Return to Phnom Penh
Hi everyone, sorry about the “bare bones posts”…it’s just that after shooting all day, I’m so darn tired that I can’t stay awake much beyond dinner and doing my nightly edit and backups. I’ve been posting images and that’s about it and I know some of you want some more background and technical info on [...]
Kampot, Cambodia, The Asia Foundation Assignment Continues
Worked in Phonm Penh this morning, then headed to Kampot down south. I’ve never been to Kampot so I was excited to get the opportunity to see another part of Cambodia
Assignment for The Asia Foundation Cambodia, Continues.
Today’s work included gathering images and stories from an English language school in Battambang, a long road trip out towards Pailin, Cambodia, not far from the Thai border (this area was the stronghold of the Khmer Rouge, and it’s where Pol Pot died). Then it was a long ride past rice fields being planted….to Phonm Pehn, Cambodia’s capitol city
Assignment: The Asia Foundation, Cambodia
I’m documenting the Asia Foundation’s work toward effective governance, democracy, and growth in Cambodia. It’s hot here…hotter than Thailand. In my opinion, Cambodia really just has two seasons, hot and hotter! Although the heat sometimes makes it very uncomfortable to work here, the Cambodian people are just so genuinely wonderful, that you kind of forget about the heat. There’s a joy and radiance in the faces and the personalities here, often captured one’s photos.
The Asia Foundation Assignment in Bangkok Continues…

The Asia Foundation is a non-profit, non-governmental organization committed to the development of a peaceful, prosperous, just, and open Asia-Pacific region. The Foundation supports Asian initiatives to improve governance, law, and civil society; women’s empowerment; economic reform and development; sustainable development and the [...]
