C atching up with some more blog posts from 2016…. This set is from the optional extension to our annual Pushkar photo tour, where we visit Amritsar, home of the most important Sikh temple in the world and Haridwar, a sacred Hindu bathing location, on the Ganges river in the foothills of the Himalaya.

Visits to Haridwar and Amritsar are like stepping into a totally different world, and the two locations remain among my favorite photography locations in all of India. Every evening, In Amritsar we visit the Golden Temple and do street photography in the old city. In Haridwar we witness “Aarti”, a Hindu puja ceremony is performed on the Ganges in Haridwar, followed by mornings spent doing photo walks in the area adjacent to our hotel, which, in my opinion, offers some of the best light and richest photo ops anywhere. Enjoy these 14 images.
