EDC Sudan Day 3

Day 3 Sudan, photographing for Education Development Center. Today's visit was a small rural school, all of the younger children were dressed in pink and the older students in blue...

I will be adding some text tonight if possible, but internet is so slow and inconsistent that I can guarantee anything…I’ just happy to be able to post a few images for the time being.

Hi Karl, Thanks for sharing these photographs with us. The light looks amazing in all these shots. Do you notice any difference between your former cameras and these ones? Have you change your way of shooting because of that? Just curious.
    Thanks again. Heber.

Hi Jane, thanks for your nice comment…Actually you and the folks at EDC Juba office played a big role in these photos…it’s your hard work and preparation that made it all possible. Keep up the great work, you are providing important programs for Sudan!

Heber, thanks also for your comments. In terms of the cameras..The cameras that I am using now are 6 years newer than my old Canon Mark II bodies….6 years is like centuries in today’s digital age. The biggest difference (advantage) is the ability to shoot in lower light and produce images that are “cleaner” and less “noisy”. This is not to say that you can’t create great images with older gear. I was providing my clients with excellent images earlier this year while still shooting my old Canons, but the newer cameras do provide an advantage. The one gripe I have is that the Nikon D3s toggle button doesn’t allow me to pick a focus point as quickly and easily as the Canon “wheel”. Nothing is perfect eh?

Thanks to everyone who takes the time to comment. My apologies when I am unable to reply. Cheers, Karl

These pictures are amazing! The one with all the heads, that’s just insane!
You have a lot of talent, every time I see your pictures they are better and better.
Great job, not only with your photos but with the NGOs.
I admire you a lot and if somebody will ever ask me who I want to be like, in photography, I will say without hesitation.
    KARL GROBL!!!

Celso, you are certainly my biggest fan, and compliments like that, coming from a photographer as talented as you mean so much! I wish I had been able to attend your exhibit and opening…I am sure you blew everyone away with your images. Take care and I really hope we get the chance to travel together again soon. Cheers, Karl

Stellar work, Karl! Have you noticed much of a difference between the colors and skin tones you got with your old camera vs. what you’re getting with your new Nikons?
