Unlocking the Secrets of “Finding the Llight”

After our morning boat ride on the Ganges, we had a quick breakfast and then took to the streets for what I consider to be some of the best street photography opportunities in India. We worked on "finding the light" and positioning ourselves to capture the best image possible.

Often time people say that the best light for photography occurs only around sunrise and sunset.  In many cases this is true, especially in landscape photography, but there is always good light to be found, even in the middle of the day..you just have to learn where to look for it.

The narrow streets and tall buildings in Varanasi offer up some fantastic lighting conditions, especially where bounce light is available. Bounce light, just like in a studio setting, is indirect and often excellent, especially for people photography. Bounce light is often soft and directional.

A very nice tip..instead of whining about the bad weather for photography, try to open our eyes wider to search for possibilities..good 😀
