This morning we had a wonderful time photographing morning rituals on the ghats in Varanasi and had an opportunity to meet members of The Toba Photographer Club, an enthusiastic and friendly group of photographers who hail from Medan Indonesia!
Unlocking the Secrets of “Finding the Llight”
After our morning boat ride on the Ganges, we had a quick breakfast and then took to the streets for what I consider to be some of the best street photography opportunities in India. We worked on “finding the light” and positioning ourselves to capture the best image possible.
India Photo Tour Starts: We’ve Arrived in Varanasi
Last night we arrived in Varanasi, a bit later than expected, due to a delayed flight, but we enjoyed a scenic night time boat ride to our hotel, with a quick stop at the burning ghat, and then early this morning we were up to photograph the amazing spectacle of pilgrims bathing in the Ganges river. Today’s lead photo (shown at the left) shows Heather Geigert seated on the front of our boat as we headed upstream to our riverside hotel, the Rashmi Guest House.

Inle Lake III
Each year our Myanmar trip is planned so that we are at Inle lake during the Indein Market, a small market that takes place on the shore of Inle Lake. This market is one of my favorite markets in Asia, it offers up fabulous colorful photo opportunities.
Inle Lake II
Today we visited several local businesses which operate from over-water villages on Inle lake, including a weaving factory, blacksmith shop, cigarette factory, and a house were several Padong Long Neck tribe women live.
Inle Lake
Today’s cover shot today was a drive-by shooting at Inle lake, or shall I say, a float-by shooting, created from the boat we were traveling in, past homes on Inle lake.
Bagan: Road trip to Mount Popa & Return to Bagan
Today we traveled from Bagan to Mount Popa, with stops along the way to visit and photograph rural villages, markets and of course, the famous Mount Popa!
Myanmar Photo tour: Images From Bagan
Myanmar was blocking my blog posts while we were there. So, as in may previous post, I am in the process of catching up on each day’s images and a few words to go along.
