As I write this post, I’m sitting in the Thai Airways departure area of Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport. I’m finished with work in Sri Lanka, and am heading back to California. The last batch of images that I will share from my Asia Foundation shoot, is from Pettah Market, Fort railway station and Gangaramaya Temple in Colombo.

Pettah market is Colombo’s largest market, where anything and everything can be purchased. I concentrated on the fruit and vegetable area, but there is lot’s more to be seen.

Fort railway station is Colombo’s main train station. Both are interesting places to visit and the kind, friendly and welcoming Sri Lankans are excited to see a foreigner showing interest in their activities.

Finally, a few images from Gangaramaya Temple; a small but interesting Buddhist temple in the heart of Colombo.

I hope you enjoy these images…

This guy took my Kuhl hat while I was photographing his friends!…he really wanted to trade his cap for mine !

You have certainly captured a part of the everyday lives of these people. I don’t think I could pick a favorite. I am really interested in what you do so I’ll be following you. ( wow, that sounds creepy, but you know what I mean. 🙂 FYI I found you through Ken Rockwell’s page.

Thanks Lynda, I appreciate the compliments and I’m happy to have you follow along. Thanks also to my good friend Ken Rockwell for mentioning me on his website. Happy Holidays to all, Karl
