This year’s Philippines photo tour is off and running with full complement of 10 enthusiastic participants. Today, our first day was spent in Intramuros, Manila’s historic district. The highlight of our day was the private tour by historian, tour guide extraordinaire,  and all around great guy; Greg Dorris. Greg’s passion for Philippine culture and history is contagious and it’s always a pleasure to listen to him as he makes Manila’s history come alive. We toured Intramuros, Fort Santiago, Binondo, Quiapo and other important historic landmarks in the area. Here are just 20 images from our day. Enjoy.

Great photos! Welcome again to the Philippines, Karl. I am a Filipino. But it seems you have traveled around my country much more than I did. I have always dreamed of joining your photo tour. I hope I can someday.

Is that a Canon you have in the last picture? I thought you had Nikons when we went with you on the first trip to the Philippines.

Yes, that’s a Canon, I’m back using Canons as of January 2013

    Karl,

May I ask which Canon body you are now using. I had to change out my 1D mkiv’s and went with the upgrade of the 1D X. Also, what made you change back?

I guess the ability to focus quickly and accurately is important to Karl that’s why he might have changed back to Canon
