Upon hearing the news of yesterday’s devastating earthquake in Nepal, I immediately began to contemplate many enchanting visits to the small Himalayan nation, the last of which was in October of 21012 while leading a photography tour. Anyone who has ever visited Nepal understands that it is one of the most amazing and wonderful places on our planet.
The Nepalese are without question among the most friendly and welcoming of people on this earth. Their rich history, their deep spirituality and the tremendous natural beauty of their country leaves visitors in awe.
It is with great sadness that we contemplate the human and material loss which occurred yesterday. It will likely be weeks or longer before the scale of this tragedy is full understood. Thankfully, humanitarian assistance is already starting to arrive as the nations of the world begin to assist Nepal on their long arduous road to recovery.
The Nepalese are a strong, resourceful, determined people who have overcome adversity in the past, and they will overcome this most recent natural disaster as well.
On behalf of Jim Cline Photo tours and all the tour guests on the 2012 Nepal Bhutan Photo Tour, I offer the following images, made in October of 2102 as a tribute to all Nepalese citizens. Our hearts and prayers are with you. Namaste.
Thanks for this precious reminder and visual prayer, Karl. May the strength, compassion and spiritual wisdom of these generous people support them in their shock and grief now and as they move forward in the weeks. months and years ahead. Sending love and blessings to the Nepalese people from this side of the planet.

Stunning images, Karl. Thank you for sharing these. I have a great respect for the people of these Asian nations and share the universal pain felt around the world for the families and communities lost.
Thank you, Kim, Frank and Judy, for your thoughts and comments. It is indeed a terrible tragedy for so many families throughout Nepal. It is reassuring to see the international assistance that is flowing into the country. The road to recovery will be long but the Nepalese are strong willed and resourceful. They have faced adversity before and with help from other nations, they will rebuild their lives, again.
