A fter departing Hoi Anh via our flight from Danang, we headed to Hanoi to experience a completely different “Vietnam”. In Hanoi, we shot the bustling old quarter and visited Ho Chi Minh’s tomb, and even had some free time to avail ourselves to some of the best shopping in Southeast Asia. It’s here where the silk and lacquer ware is most plentiful and inexpensive and we’re staying just a block from “silk street” in Hanoi’s famous Old Quarter. After some time in Hanoi we headed to the Gulf of Tonkin and breathtaking Halong Bay, along the way stopping and photographing rice paddies and our favorite village. Once arriving in Ha Long Bay (literally: Descending Dragon Bay) yet another UNESCO World Heritage site, we boarded our private boat for lunch and a half day cruise sail among Halong Bay’s limestone cliffs to Cat Ba Island.
Enjoy these 45 images, and perhaps later this week, I’ll make one more post of photos from this year’s Jim Cline Photo Tours Vietnam Explorer Tour

According to John McCain, this is not his flight suit, as many who visit here are led to believe.

The photos were amazing in this post. They tell the whole story of people of Bhutan and their culture and livelihood.
