D uring this Papua New Guinea photography adventure we journeyed through vast expanses of the environment of Papua New Guinea to experience unique cultural festivals in remote areas of the Sepik River. The tribes of the Sepik River provide stark differences in tribal life from those in the mountain region of Mt. Hagen. We cruised down the Sepik in native canoes made from hollowed out trees and spend a couple of days living among the tribes that still today practice their beliefs and tend to their lives as they have done for many years. While on the Sepik will lived in accommodations that could truly be considered primitive, staying in the local huts and living among the tribes. Although challenged by the lack of facilities (water, electricity, etc.), our days offered an adventure and cultural experience that will never be forgotten.
