During this Papua New Guinea photography adventure our group of 11 intrepid photographers journeyed through vast expanses of the environment of Papua New Guinea to experience unique cultural festival.s in remote areas.
After our short stay in Port Moresby, we headed out to see the tribes of the Sepik River region. The Sepik river region provides stark differences in tribal life from those in the mountain region of Mt. Hagen which we visited later in the trip.
Our exploration of the Sepik river region began with a trip down the Sepik in native canoes made from hollowed out trees. We spent two amazing days living in very basic accommodations in a village, among the tribes that still today practice their beliefs and tend to their lives as they have done for many years. Although challenged by the lack of facilities (water, electricity, etc.), our days offered an adventure and cultural experience that will never be forgotten.
Here are some photos of our Sepik river adventure. If you’re interested in joining next year’s Papua New Guinea adventure, there are still a few spots available
