F or part two of the 2016 Jim Cline Photo Tours Amazing Myanmar trip, we traveled from Mandalay to Bagan, a 30 square-mile plain, part-covered in palm trees and tamarind with the mighty Irrawaddy river slicing through it; framed by distant mountains. Rising from the plain are more than 2000 temples that were built by the kings of Bagan between 1057 and 1287. In addition to the opportunity to photograph the beautiful landscapes here, we did some set up shoots, chased the livestock herders and we were also visit markets and workshops. With the end of the rainy season, the fields were a beautiful blanket of green, quite different than what the bulk of travelers will see at the end of this year, and the beginning of next year, when the tourist season kicks in. Great collection Karl. Love the one of MM on the bench in the orphanage and the woman in front of the cattle!
Good stuff Karl and brings back memories from my trip across Myanmar (with MM) in Jan 2015. I love the cheroot smoking women and have a collection myself. Nice images of Bagan area/markets and of course MM relaxing. Looking forward to joining you on the 2017 Papua New Guinea trip in August. Cheers!
Thanks Bruce!
I’m looking forward to having you on PNG, it’s going to be awesome!
Cheers,
Karl
