T his is my second post, with selected images from a recent, Ladakh, India: Scouting Trip. Our June trip is already sold out but there are spaces still available on the July Photo Tour
Ladakh is indeed, breathtaking, in more ways than one. The sweeping, lunar-like, mountain landscapes are a sight to behold in this otherworldly location. Brilliant cobalt blue skies with white puffy clouds were a constant companion, as was the struggle to breathe!
From the elevation of Leh, at almost 10,000 feet to the highest pass at over 18,ooo feet, it took several days to become acclimated to a lower level of oxygen than one’s body is accustomed to. But, as John F. Kennedy said in his famous speech at Rice University on September 12th, 1962 ….”We choose to go to the Moon in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard”. In Ladakh even simple things can be hard, and often times, you feel as if you are on the moon, but the experience is worth the extra effort!
More images to come, so enjoy these 19 and stay tuned for more!
Beautiful set! I love your lead photo and of course the camel! They make me want to go back.
