After our 2 day boat trip from the Thailand border, with a mid-way overnight stop in Pak Beng, we’ve arrived in the UNESCO World Heritage town of Luang Prabang. Our second day on the river was an 8 hour private boat journey, which provided us with plenty of relaxation, time to edit our images and to chat about photography, punctuated with some short forays into small riverside villages and even a brief visit to a cave complex full of thousands of Buddha statues. This Mekong river section of the trip is a favorite of many of us (myself included), because it’s an opportunity to cruise down this incredible river, the heart and soul of mainland Southeast Asia, the “Mother Mekong”.

A lot of really lovely images here. But you know, in the second photograph… that magical light on her wet feet…. that is such a perfect moment. So beautiful.

The monk and dog and monks crossing the bridge are really nice.

    Dear Karl Grobl,

Thank you very much for taking such wonderful and stunning photographs. Each one is breathtaking and thought-provoking! A student of languages myself, I am especially fond of the image 11th from the top (the monk with a pen in hand) and would love to post it on my blog if you wouldn’t mind. I post a new image each week that inspires me and I think this is perfect (wish I could post all of the pictures, to be honest)

Naturally I would credit you and link the image back to your site. Just let me know if you’d prefer I not.

    Cheers!

    Dorian
