O K, I just can’t help myself. Even though it’s out of sequence (because I still need to blog about earlier shoots in the trip), I’ve just got to share this one photo with you.

I know no other place like the Philippines where you can feel like a child again. Filipinos love to be playful and have a good time. In fact today’s activities are set up, just to let everyone on the tour experience the “playful side of the Philippines”.

We start with a trip to the Tarsier sanctuary, where we view and photograph a tiny nocturnal mammal, then we have lunch on a riverboat cruise down the Loboc river, a totally “Filipino” thing to do. It’s like being on a boat for an elementary school field trip! Everyone is having such a fun time, eating, watching the scenery go past, and waving to other groups, while a singer belts out golden oldie ballads.

Now, I know it sounds “cheesy” and it is, that’s the whole point….but it’s a total blast if you just give in, and go along with the program like a local!

Anyway, after lunch we visit the Chocolate hills. One thing that just about every Filipino tourist group does, is a thing called the “Jump Shot”. No matter what popular tourist place you visit, be it Vigan, Sagada, Baguio, the seaside walk in Manila or the Chocolate hills in Bohol, groups of Filipino tourists have their pictures taken as they jump in the air. So, we thought, what the heck, we’ll give it a try too.

The local photographer had a broom and he let us use it for a totally authentic “Philippines flying broom Jump Shot”.

It took us a few tries, but the local photographer persisted and he finally caught us all in the air at the same time!

The Philippines tourism motto is “It’s more fun in the Philippines” and we all agree! It’s so much fun to feel like a kid again….we wish you were here too.

Wow! What a shot!~ It looks unreal – like it was shot on a Green screen with the background added later. I imagine there were lots of laughs. This really ought to be a postcard – very fun. I’m assuming Doris and Jerry were watching the shenanigans?
