This morning I had the unique opportunity to spend some time photographing in New Delhi with my good friend and former Jim Cline Photo Tour participant, US Ambassador to India, Nancy Powell.
Nancy chose Chandni Chowk for this morning’s shoot. Chandni Chowk is one of Delhi’s busiest and oldest marketplaces. Located within the walled city of Old Delhi, Chandni Chowk derives its name from the canal which used to run down the middle reflecting the moonlight; ‘chaandni’ in Hindi means ‘moonlight.’
Here are 23 images from this mornings fun. I must say that it’s always great to be back in India, it’s a photographers paradise. Tonight the last of our photo tour guests arrive and tomorrow morning we start our tour with a photo shoot in Delhi, which includes a visit to on of my favorite locations….you guessed it, Chandi Chowk. Ahhh, incredible India!
Ahhhh… you’ve captured the feeling of the place well. The only thing missing is the press of humanity.
How about a photo of the street-side ear cleaners? 😉
Have a wonderful time with your students…
Peace
Beautiful set of images where every corner, wall and street become alive with the sounds (that I cannot hear) and the smells (i cannot smell) – but your images allow me to imagine.
