After our afternoon explorations in Delhi, including the Sikh temple and the Quatab Minar, we returned to our hotel for our final evening in the sprawling capital city. In the morning we boarded our flight to the Blue City of Jodhpur. Upon arrival we checked into the legendary Ajit Bhawan Hotel, built exclusively for Majaraja ir Ajit Sing. The Ajit Bhawan is one of my favorite hotels in India, vibrantly alive with the personalized hospitality provided by the late Maharaja’s family who still lives there. Jodhpur is the second largest city in the Indian state of Rajasthan. The city is known as the “Sun City” for the bright, sunny weather it enjoys all the year round. It is also referred to as the “Blue City” due to the vivid blue-painted houses around the Mehrangarh Fort. In the afternoon, we toured one of my favorite areas of the Blue City of Jodhpur and in the morning we woke early to spent another 3 hours in the back streets of Jodhpur with several red turbaned models, who dutifully posed for us in various locations.
