T he 2018 Jim Cline Photo Tours Vietnam Explorer Photo Tour has been completed. Another amazing trip through a country full of fantastic photo opportunities. I’m including a selection of my favorite still images here. For this trip, I set my cameras to 16:9 aspect ratio so that any still photos or videos I created using the images would show on my computer screen (iMac) and my Sony Televisions, and fill the frame from edge to edge. Shooting and composing images with such a wide viewpoint proved challenging at times, but I got used to it rather quickly and enjoyed “mixing things up a bit”.
For a video of the trip, created with moving images from my Olympus OMD EM1 Mark II cameras and the DJI Spark drone, you might enjoy this link https://vimeo.com/266831277

Beautiful. Thought Provoking images.
On the subject of thought provoking images.. You haven’t blogged in a while…?
I took many many fantastic photographs during the tour. But beyond the great locations, my discussions with Mansour really impacted the way I approach taking photos. How I look at composition, lighting, and mostly, the story-or message- that I want to convey in the image or images. I came away from the tour more excited and inspired about photography than ever. Thank you Vietnam in Focus!
