The final stop on our Myanmar photo tour is always Inle Lake. We spend two nights at a resort in the middle of Inle Lake and two more in the town of Nyaung Shwe.
There are some amazing markets around the shores of Inle Lake where local hill tribe people come to buy and sell everything imaginable. We travel by boat from our “floating hotel” to several of these markets and also to a cigar factory and a weaving village.
There is always some amazing light in these factories which are devoid of electricity. Because of the lack of electricity, the weavers and cigar makers sit near open windows where the light makes it easier for them to work. This of course allows for some amazing photographic possibilities. We spent several hours in these shops and factories photographing Burmese cigar makers and weavers.
