We made one final 5:30 AM photo outing at Pushkar Fair, then grabbed breakfast, packed our bags and hit the road. The next stop on our journey is Jaipur, Rajasthan’s capitol, know affectionately as “the pink city” because the buildings in the old section are made exclusively of pink sandstone. On the way here we passed through an area where much of India’s marble production occurs and stopped for half an hour to photograph a marble factory in action. The cutting of large slabs of marble wasn’t happening, so we took the opportunity to shoot portraits of the workers with the “industrial backdrop”. Here are a few images from our brief visit.

One of the workers holds a Polaroid that Lisa very kindly shot and gave to him.
I am having fun seeing all the photos from your tour! Takes me back to when I was on the tour – yikes, not even sure what year it was. 2006 I think? Anyways, looking forward to going on another tour someday – they are so much fun! You and Jim do a fantastic job with them.
