We’re into our 6th day here in Siem Reap, and all the participants are getting deeper and deeper into their “visual story telling” assignments On the first day, participants were challenged with the task of creating a short Soundslides Presentation on a story that they chose from a list of topics. Each morning and afternoon, […]
Angkor Photo Workshop Moving Right Along!
Another photo but not any time to do anything but post it. We are having way too much fun!
Angkor Photo Workshop!
We’re having a fantastic time in Siem Reap! Marco Ryan, Gavin Gough, Matt Brandon and I are here with 14 participants for the first annual Angkor Photo Workshop, I’m so busy I have absolutely no time to blog it. I’ll just post this one image and say… we wish you were here.
Senegal Day 3: Saving for Change Group Meeting
It’s 11:30 pm, it’s been a long day…shooting for NGOs usually means long days. We got back to the hotel tonight at around 9:00 pm, grabbed a bite to eat (mutton) and then Brent and I sat here and edited, blogged, uploaded, wrote captions, did research and caught up on email. Mind you, I am not complaining..I love my job, it’s the best job in the world, but it’s not always as easy or glamorous as it sounds.
Angkor Photo Workshop, Cambodia, July 11-25, 2011 only 3 spots left!

Brush With Greatness: Photographer, Lynn Johnson
Occasionally in the field I run into working photographers and I always enjoy the opportunity to “talk shop” and share stories. It was a hot and humid day in Siem Reap, shooting at Angkor Wat temple so I stopped and sat down in one of the inner chambers, where it was a bit cooler. Sitting […]
Steve McCurry’s Blog
Ever since I can remember, I’ve been a fan of Steve McCurry’s photography. I recall perusing the pages of National Geographic and being stunned by Steve’s imagery. Through the years I have studied Steve’s work and have been inspired by many of his books and exhibits. A few years back I ran into Steve in […]
Interviewed by Piers Ede, “The Indiaphile”
We were in Varanasi during my annual photo tour, when Piers Ede contacted me regarding an interview for his blog called “The Indiaphile”. Piers had just posted his interview with National Geographic photographer, Steve McCurry so I must say that I was honored to be chosen for his next interview. Piers and I finally hooked […]
The Untouchable
Often the most memorable part of a trip has nothing to do with some famous annual event, or an iconic location in the country you’re visiting. I’m writing this entry having just returned from the Pushkar Fair in Rajasthan. The Pushkar fair is the centerpiece of the photo tour I do in India, so don’t get […]
