The first annual Jim Cline Photo Tours South India trip starts in Mumbai on February 19th. I’ve arrived in India early, to scout out a few last minute locations and details. My long-time Indian tour guide and good friend DV is with me as we blaze a quick trail from Chennai, backwards towards Bombay to meet the incoming group next week. DV and I are moving at a lightening fast pace, but neither of us can resist grabbing a few quick shots along the way!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>This man, dressed and adorned in full regalia, was at the temple, celebrating his 60th wedding anniversary.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>DV an I talked to this fisherman on the beach, his name is Murgangean. When we asked him where he was during the 2004 Indian ocean tsunami he began telling us his amazing story.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Murgangean explains that he was out on the sea\u00a0 fishing in his boat, “the sea was calm like swimming pool and I felt something strange, but was not alarmed”.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a> “As I was coming back home, I noticed the water was full of unusual things, I saw refrigerators and other items floating in the sea, I was astounded and happy, so I began collecting things into my boat, it was like winning the lottery! Then further along I saw the body of a woman floating and my happiness turned to fear, I thought this must be the end of the world, I threw everything that I had collected back into the sea”.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Murgangean went on to explain that as he approached the shore he saw much chaos and destruction…”it was then that I realized that something was very, very wrong”.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Weaving village, famous for the best silk saris in India. This married couple work together fabricating a wedding quality sari. The garment takes them about one month to complete and will sell for around $500 USD.<\/p>\n

\n\"\"<\/a>The evening’s last light along the beach, as fishermen return in their boats.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>With lots of help from their friends, the fishermen haul their boats up onto the beach, unload their catch and quickly rush the fresh fish to the local market, alerting the wholesale buyer by cell phone as they drive.<\/p>\n
