Upon hearing the news of yesterday’s devastating earthquake in Nepal, I immediately began to contemplate many enchanting visits to the small Himalayan nation, the last of which was in October of 21012 while leading a photography tour. Anyone who has ever visited Nepal understands that it is one of the most amazing and wonderful places on our planet.<\/p>\n

The Nepalese are without question among the most friendly and welcoming of people on this earth. Their rich history, their deep spirituality and the tremendous natural beauty of their country leaves visitors in awe.<\/p>\n

It is with great sadness that we contemplate the human and material loss which occurred yesterday. It will likely be weeks or longer before the scale of this tragedy is full understood. Thankfully, humanitarian assistance is already starting to arrive as the nations of the world begin to assist Nepal on their long arduous road to recovery.<\/p>\n

The Nepalese are a strong, resourceful, determined people who have overcome adversity in the past, and they will overcome this most recent natural disaster as well.<\/p>\n
