While in Ahmedabad, we visited an old section of town, where conditions and backdrops for street photography are at their best. By taking a position and not moving more than a few meters in either direction, I spent some time trying to capture shots that conveyed the feeling of motion, and incorporating multiple layers of activity. Most of my favorite images centered around a woman sitting on the ground selling vegetables and the interesting staircases behind her. With lots of foot and vehicle traffic on the street, I waited and shot as objects passed between me and my subject. There was a quite a bit of curiosity on the locals behalf, watching a foreigner sit on the curb, taking image after\u00a0image of something seemingly so mundane and\/or\u00a0ridiculous. The following\u00a0is a selection of my favorites, culled out of nearly\u00a0100 shots, converted to black and white using\u00a0Lightroom and edited to look like the grainy, high-contrast black and white film of years gone by.
