First of all let me say thank you for following this blog.\u00a0 It is your interest, comments,\u00a0 and participation that motivates me to\u00a0 post images and\u00a0 information.\u00a0 It is my hope that some day you will be able to come along on one\u00a0 of these adventures…\u00a0<\/p>\n

As I write this I am sitting in my hotel room in Phnom Penh, having arrived yesterday from Siem Reap. Today is the first day since the start of our workshop that I have had any time to sit back and reflect on where we have and what we have accomplished in this, the first Angkor Photo Workshop.<\/p>\n

I have so much to say and I have so many photographs to help describe what we have been doing over the past two weeks. I think it’s probably going to take another five blog posts to really explain and show what a wonderful enriching experience we have all participated in.<\/p>\n

Yesterday, we visited Teoul Sleng prison, or “S21” as they call it. S21 is a place where the Khmer Rouge tortured dissidents before taking them out to the killing fields. The most amazing thing about our visit yesterday was that we had the opportunity to get a personal to work from Chum Mey, one of the three remaining survivors of the Khmer Rouge’s notorious torture facility. In short, we were able to hear first-hand what happened there. It was a photojournalist’s opportunity of a lifetime. I’ll be providing a full report with images at a later time, because I have so many images from the last week or so to bring you up to speed with.<\/p>\n
