Machu Picchu straddles the
saddle of a high mountain with steep terraced slopes that fall precipitously
down to the Urubamba River far below. Behind the main ruins, Huayna
Picchu towers overhead. A two-hour climb along a steep trail leads to
the top. The overlook provides a dramatically different view of the
ruins and the surrounding mountains. If you're able, the hike should
not be missed.
