On an anonymous tip, an un-named freelance
journalist and film crew caught up with Steve Grobl at his posh vacation retreat
just outside La Jolla, California. They report that Steve is now back in his
Rangers uniform following reconstructive arthroscopic knee surgery in late September.
In the above photo, Steve shows several hundred
small pieces of cartilage removed from his injured right knee.
Steve said, "My performance was suffering, and I thought my playing days
might be over, but then my brother suggested I see renouned sports medicine
orthopaedic surgeon Dr. Don Shelbourne". "Shelbourne decided on surgery
and in a one and a half hour procedure, Don went in and removed all this junk."
Steve's future looks bright once again.
"I should be back in game shape in a few more weeks, then we can concentrate
on the cup."
Rangers fans are celebrating across the country.
