F rom our base in Mandalay participants of the 2015 Amazing Myanmar Photo Tour explored some of the most photogenic locations around town and in the surrounding area. We visited Mahamuni Temple, traveled to nearby Inwa and made a long stop in Sagaing. Sagaing, one of my favorite places to shoot is on the western banks of the Irrawaddy River about 20 kilometers south of Mandalay city. Sagaing was one of Myanmar’s ancient capitals, but today it’s known for being a religious retreat center,  with hundreds of  white, silver and gold pagodas as well as countless monasteries scattered around on a beautiful hill; some of which allow visitors.

The following images include photographs from Mahamuni temple in Mandalay city, and plenty of shots of monks and nuns, from our excursions. Enjoy.
