NGOs (Non-Government Organizations) from all over the world as well as the US, Singapore and Indonesian military provide aid to people in remote areas. Roads and bridges leading out from the main town of Banda Aceh were destroyed during the tsunami, making the logistics of delivering much needed food and medicines difficult.
